Why should I have a tarot
reading?
A tarot reading is your opportunity to:
- Renew your sense of purpose
- Find more meaning in your work and relationships
- Enhance your creativity and productivity
- Tap into your higher self and develop your intuition
- Balance your body, mind, and spirit
- Hear honest, objective, and constructive feedback
- Explore your options for growth and development
- Overcome obstacles and stumbling blocks
- Find solutions to your problems
What exactly is the tarot?
The tarot is a deck of 78 cards that dates back to fourteenth-century
Renaissance Italy. Each card is lavishly illustrated with images and symbols
that incorporate a wide range of Western thought and tradition, including
mythology, astrology, alchemy, numerology, and kabbalah.
How is “tarot” pronounced?
Most people say “tarot” with a long “a,” so it rhymes with “arrow.” The final
“t” is silent.
How does the tarot work?
Many experts have theorized that the tarot taps into the “collective
unconscious” — the underlying bond of energy, emotion, and shared experience
that unites us all. Others believe that users are simply drawn to the images and
symbols that have the most meaning and significance for them. No matter what you
believe about the principles behind the tarot, its accuracy is often uncanny.
What can I expect
during a tarot reading?
During your tarot reading, I'll ask you to focus on a single question, issue,
problem, or concern. If you’re getting a reading in person, I’ll ask you to
shuffle or cut the cards while you think about your situation. Then I’ll lay out
a number of cards to explore, and together we’ll find the answer to your
question.
Can you teach me how to
read tarot cards?
I'd be happy to. While I frequently teach tarot classes in and around the
Twin Cities and on the Internet, I'm also available for private lessons. If
you'd like, you could even get some of your friends together and I'll teach you
as a group. Contact me for details.
